Meet the Baby Bowie—the lighter, shorter sibling of our beloved Bowie coat. Designed for effortless layering, this hip-length version offers the same refined structure and signature toggles but without insulation, making it the perfect choice for when the temperatures rise.

The Baby Bowie brings casual sophistication to spring and fall days—or those unexpectedly cool summer evenings. Outer shell is made with our custom heirloom 100% felted wool.

Is it warm? Yes, there are two layers of insulation for 3-season wear. The outer woollen shell can accommodate sub-zero temperatures and is made from hearty British Melton that is wind and water resistant. Equally eventful on the interior is the silky Tencel lining to wick away moisture when needed. The remarkable thing about wool is that it insulates and regulates temperature, so you’ll be warm outside and won’t overheat when you go indoors.

How can I adjust the sleeve length?

The cuffs are designed with 3” of extra length to accommodate a roll, if desired. Adjust your cuff length depending on your arm length.

The Baby Bowie is a modern interpretation of the classic toggle coat, reimagined in a hip-length silhouette for a more effortless, everyday feel. XS/S fits sizes 0-8 or standard XS-M
M/L fits sizes 10-14 or standard M-XL
The Baby Bowie is designed to fit a wide range of body types and your size will depend on your preferred fit.
Keep in mind that sleeves are long, they are designed to be rolled to accommodate various arm lengths

From the lands to the hands that crafted this garment, every detail of this heritage coat was consciously made to help preserve precious artisan skills while honouring the Earth. Wool Overcoat:

100% heirloom wool felt: small-batch woven by a family-owned mill. This wool is naturally wind, water, odour, and microbial resistant. Dyes are low-impact OEKO-TEX certified.

Maple toggle:

Bespoke and hand-turned in Toronto by a female wood-turner using remanent hard maple. These one-of-kind toggles have been seasoned with hemp oil harvested from a local farm. The toggles are individually hand-branded using a tool made by an onshore company operating since c.1950’s.

100% Wool rope:

Made in the famous Muskoka region with local sheep’s wool, minimal processing, and twisted in a female-owned wool mill. Look closely and you may see evidence of nature in its fibers.

100% Tencel™ lining:

Produced from sustainably sourced wood by environmentally responsible processes. The fibers are breathable, moisture wicking, temperature regulating, and biodegradable.

Care:

Lucky for us, wool requires less cleaning compared to synthetics. Spot clean with water for discrete spots. Eco-dry clean if necessary. Do not machine wash or dry.

Before storing, hang your coat outside in fresh air (out of direct sunlight) for a few hours to remove any lingering odours. Then, either fold it along its natural lines into a breathable, natural fibre garment bag or storage box, or hang it on a sturdy, padded hanger to maintain its shape.

REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY

If you’re not satisfied with your order, we can offer you an exchange (dependent available inventory) or store credit.

For an exchange or store credit, email us at info@stemargscot.com and we will send you a link to print a return label.

Your store credit will be equal to the item cost + HST, minus return shipping costs. To be eligible for a store credit, your item must be unused, in the same condition that you received it and in the original packaging.

Store Credit

After we receive your returned item and inspect its condition, we will process your store credit or exchange. An email of your store credit (minus the cost of return shipping) will be sent to the email provided.

Exchanges

If you need to exchange an item for whatever reason, please send us an email at info@stemargscot.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Shipping returns

Since we are a small business and covered the initial shipping costs, the return shipping costs will be deducted from your store credit.

We will make this as easy as possible for you by sending you a link to print a return label. Once your return label is printed, drop your item off at Canada Post for return.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
