Named Le Sac de Laine (French for "The Wool Bag"), our interpretation of an iconic silhouette is reimagined entirely through the language of wool.

Part of our mission has always been to explore the full potential of this remarkable fibre; to see what wool can become beyond the expected. Le Sac de Laine embodies that philosophy, pairing the warmth and richness of wool with meticulous craftsmanship and considered construction.

Each Le Sac de Laine is handcrafted to order in Toronto and is available in twelve signature colours with your choice of gold or silver tone hardware. Birch Bark is crafted from 100% Canadian wool felt, while the remaining colours are made from premium European wool felt, each selected for its exceptional quality, durability and rich colour.

Designed for versatility, Le Sac de Laine features structured top handles alongside a removable, adjustable crossbody strap, allowing it to be carried by hand, over the shoulder or worn crossbody.

Signature details include the Touret turn-lock closure, matching Plaques and Pontets, a coordinating wool Clochette housing the lock and keys, and integrated wool base rails that gently elevate the bag while preserving its clean, uninterrupted silhouette.

Each Le Sac de Laine is made specifically for its future owner. It's a slower, more intentional approach to craftsmanship; one that values quality over quantity and celebrates the artistry of making something one piece at a time.

To help preserve its beauty for years to come, each Le Sac de Laine arrives nestled inside a protective cotton dust bag for storage between wears.

Crafted from premium wool felt. Birch Bark is made from 100% Canadian wool felt, while all other colours are made from premium European wool felt sourced from Germany and the Netherlands. Our European wool is dyed using low-impact, OEKO-TEX® certified dyes, with all dyeing taking place in Europe under stringent environmental and labour regulations. Finished with gold- or silver-tone metal hardware.

Care Instructions:

Maintenance: Vacuum with an upholstery brush or hand brush with a lint removal tool/lint roller. When dusting, it is normal to have a slight shedding of fibres. These loosened fibres will decrease over time.

We love that wool can be self-cleaning by airing out. Dry dirt or dust can be removed with a vacuum.

If you encounter a stain, spot clean discrete areas with a slightly damp warm cloth and mild soap/detergent. Pat the area to remove the stain and lay the bag right side up on a towel to dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

Should it be necessary to clean the entire bag, eco dry cleaning is recommended.

If you’re looking to return or exchange your order for whatever reason, we’re here to help! We offer easy returns within 14 days of purchase. Email us at info@stemargscot.com and we will send you a link to print a return label. You can return your product for exchange or a refund (minus the return shipping cost) to the original payment method. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition that you received it and in the original packaging.

Shipping returns

Since we are a small business and covered the initial shipping costs, the return shipping costs will be deducted from your store credit.

We will make this as easy as possible for you by sending you a link to print a return label. Once your return label is printed, drop your item off at Canada Post for return.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
