Stormy Eggplant
A mystic dance between dusk and dawn, stormy eggplant is a chromatic tale of lavender’s metamorphosis into moody mauve. In some Eastern cultures, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, it is perceived as a sacred colour, linked to spiritual enlightenment and healing.
Irish Green
Named after the common Irish surname, Kelly green finds its origins in the rolling landscapes of Ireland, where lush fields and vibrant meadows inspired its lively hue. Adorned on regal garments across the ages, it wove stories of vibrancy and renewal, echoing the spirited rebirth of spring’s emerald embrace.
Power Pink
Like the flowering plants that bears its name, fuchsia blends the intensity of magenta with the playfulness of pink. Evoking elegance and power, fuchsia became a chromatic muse in Victorian fashion and later evolved as a symbol of artistic expression and contemporary flair.
Clementine Red
The red pigment was one of the first colours to be used by humans. Originally made from ochre, an iron containing clay-sand mixture, reddish hues were used by ancient Egyptians, Mayans, Chinese, and Romans for ceremonial purposes. Clementine red radiates warmth and zest, evoking memories of ripe fruit and fire.
Perfect Chartreuse
Brilliant and sophisticated, this is for the colour obsessed. The brightest, happiest, and most modern citrine known to man. Also, a liqueur from a French monastery, Chartreuse’s history is just as colourful as the liquid in the bottle. They named the liqueur chartreuse after the mountain range in the Alps where their first monastery, La Grande Chartreuse, was built.
French Lilac
A mesmerizing hue that evokes a Provencal romance with its delicate blooms and sweet fragrance. French Lilac’s have played important roles in various cultures, from Celts who believed the flower to be magical to early American Presidents who favourited these plush blooms in their gardens dating back to the early 1800’s.
Garden Terracotta
The love child of orange and brown, Garden Terracotta radiates warmth, echoing the earthy tones of natural clay and the Mediterrean. The word ‘terracotta’ emerged in the early 1800’s and means ‘baked earth’ in Italian. This warm hue transports us to Morocco, and specifically Marrakech, which is known for it’s sun-kissed terracotta homes.
Goldenrod Yellow
A rich autumnal yellow and a native North American perennial. Goldenrods are wildflowers with fluffy spikes that beam and radiate the vibrancy of sunsets. The flowers bloom in late summer and early fall and is one of the best-studied plants renowned for its healing benefits.
Stoney Mushroom
Mixtures of taupe, grey and beige, mushrooms have a long history of being used to create dyes for clothing. The earliest mushroom dyeing dates back to the Neolithic period, over 10,000 years ago. Stoney Mushroom is a complex neutral that exudes elegance, blending earthy tones with subtle sophistication.
Alpine Oatmeal
With whispers of grey nestled in creamy white, Alpine Oatmeal captures the serene tranquillity of a cherished blanket and snowy mountain landscapes. This soothing melange reminds us of the beautiful flocks that produce white and silver fleeces.
Is it warm? Yes, made for Canadian winters, 4 layers of insulation.
Supremely warm wool from a heritage British woolen mill, c.1800’s. Thick wool shells were worn by sailors and are wind and water resistant as well as temperature rated to -20℃. Equally eventful on the interior is the wool-filled liner, which can absorb 30% of moisture without feeling wet. The remarkable thing about wool is that it insulates and regulates temperature, so you’ll be warm outside and won’t overheat on the subway.
How can I adjust the sleeve length?
The cuffs are designed with 3” of extra length to accommodate a roll, if desired. Adjust your cuff length depending on your arm length and glove height.
What is the style? A modern relaxed/over-sized fitting duffle coat with a wide range of versatility.
A fresh Canadian take on the traditional duffle coat. We honoured the history of the duffle coat with traditional elements; thick wool, wooden toggles and a strong hood. The coat is modernized with double “denim” stitch raw seams, pure materials, sculptural hemlines, gender inclusive fit, rolled sleeves, and most importantly, bold colourways.
Why is the coat gender inclusive?
Our dream is to design for everyone. When you wear a SteMargScot coat, you decide how to represent yourself. Go for it, wear your favourite colour. Since this is a heritage coat, we love the idea that this coat can be passed along to anyone in your friends and family circle.

Wool Overcoat:
100% heirloom wool: small-batch woven by a family-owned mill. This wool is naturally wind, water, odour, and microbial resistant. Dyes are low-impact OEKO-TEX certified.
Maple toggles:
Bespoke and hand-turned in Toronto by a female wood-turner using remanent hard maple. These one-of-kind toggles have been seasoned with hemp oil harvested from a local farm. The toggles are individually hand-branded using a tool made by an onshore company operating since c.1950’s.
100% Wool rope:
Made in the famous Muskoka region with local sheep’s wool, minimal processing, and twisted in a female-owned wool mill. Look closely and you may see evidence of nature in its fibers.
Lucky for us, wool requires less cleaning compared to synthetics. Spot clean with water for discrete spots. Eco-dry clean if necessary. Do not machine wash or dry.
100% Tencel™ lining:
Produced from sustainably sourced wood by environmentally responsible processes. The fibers are breathable, moisture wicking, temperature regulating, and biodegradable. Sourced from a Canadian supplier.
HDWool™ Active insulation:
this is not the typical fossil-fuel derived polyester-fill . This is 75% traceable British wool insulation that is warm, breathable, and naturally temperature regulating. The wool is sourced from farmers with WOOLKEEPERS® certification to ensure animal welfare is prioritized, and sheep are non-mulesed. This wool has excellent moisture management and can absorb 30% of its own weight without feeling wet. The farms are LAND TO MARKET ™ verified for agricultural land-regeneration ensuring that carbon is continually sequestered. The remaining 25% content is PLA, a biopolymer made from fermented plant starch.
